BagTrak

BagTrakASI's BagTrak Baggage Scanning, Track & Trace module leads the way in reliable scan data collection and retrieval, providing an efficient, comprehensive, easy to use, and effective means to support track and trace. This tracks each passengers bag from check-in through final destination, giving the user all of the tools necessary to identify where each bag is physically located at all times. This system is fully integrated with industry standard BSM, BTM, BPM, BUM, and FCO IATA messages.

To always know where all bags are and where they are supposed to be. To provide real-time data to make informed decisions. The real-time database is updated as each scan activity is performed and each IATA message is received. Tracking is done starting at the ticket counter, through TSA screening, to loading, unloading, connections, and delivery.
This systems allows the user to identify specific containers and their bags, reduce PAWOBs and mis connects, identify short connection bags (hot bags), and generate or respond to 'OK to board' loading authority.

Features include:

  • A seamless, secure environment
  • Uses the same scanner as mail operations and cargo tracking
  • Bag security is maintained from acceptance to delivery
  • Data validation at the point of capture
  • Encrypted data transmissions
  • Automated data exchange between the hand held scanners and the host database using secure transport software protocols
  • Fully electronic data collection at the origin
  • Data is immediately available to all down-line stations
  • Accurate information reported to the appropriate government agencies
  • Recording and logging of all messages & activities
  • Status reporting
  • Complete database and reporting functions
  • Tag information searchable by passenger name, flight, seat number, ticket and/or bag tag number
  • Historical database
  • Built in World Tracer interface
  • Complete Baggage Service Message processing
  • Reservations system interface
  • Misconnect List available at flight closeout
  • Decision support assistance for baggage connection flight hold

The system receives information from two sources: the scanned data, representing the various bag statuses, such as accepted, loaded (including container/pallet/bin), transferred, and delivered; and passenger specific data, such as name, ticket number, seat number, current itinerary, and bag tag number(s). This includes interline baggage.

The data captured by the scanners, both hand held and static mounted, is transmitted directly to the BagTrak web based system. All data is encrypted. Data (such as passenger information) is passed from the airlines check-in system. Based on that systems capability level, the data is then merged into a unified structure. This enables all information about specific bags to be searchable by passenger name, seat number, ticket number, or bag tag number. This allows the airline to immediately identify: Mis-routed bags; Unaccompanied bags; Unmatched bags; and the physical location of each bag. Historical data is then saved on a nightly basis.

Through the BagTrak web STATS pages, the user is able to graph possible and impossible connections, by on location, time interval, and connection tome. This will assist station management in making real-time 'flight
hold' decisions based on inbound flight connections. Our systems and servers operate 24 x 7 x 365. The main servers switch
between the primary and backup servers with automatic failover. The main site has a second geographic failover location, approximately 50 miles away.

The user has the benefit of:
